Biggest Little Celebration South Shuswap Canada Day

By Sandra Reutlinger

Join us for Canada Day celebrations on July 1st at Centennial Field in Blind Bay for the biggest little celebration around! It is such a great family friendly and free event and brings our community together in an amazing way - not to mention bringing in many tourists from all around.

The day kicks off with the Lion’s Club famous Pancake Breakfast.

Parade is back this year! We would love to see tons of floats put together from businesses and community groups, neighbourhoods and families.  The Parade will begin at 10:00 am and go past the Blind Bay Village Grocer and then along Blind Bay Road.  Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and get a front row seat to the fun.  To register your float, please email us: southshuswapcanadaday@gmail.com

On the field there will be collector cars, kids’ games, tons of vendors including food vendors and entertainment.

The night ends with a bang! Fireworks will start sometime around 10:30 when it’s dark enough.  We have so many amazing people who live in and visit our community and we want to celebrate this great and beautiful place where we live.

Volunteers are needed beforehand, during the day of and also the day after for clean up. We need you to pitch in and help out. The only way this event can be offered is because of the fun and willing group of volunteers we have and we need more.  Contact us: southshuswapcanadaday@gmail.com
