The first in a two part series of workshops hosted by the Shuswap Economic Development Society (SEDS) took place on November 28 at the Sorrento Community Hall. This series is to support development of an investment strategy.

The Investment strategy will be an instrument used to support a tactical implementation of projects that influence positive conditions for investment attraction.

The scope of the work will be to conduct a labour sector and a retail sector gap analysis, develop a short term list of Investment attraction opportunities and identify existing/future Investment ready sites (land).

There will be a second public workshop on February 1, 2024. Workshops are part of a broader community engagement that will also involve an investment survey, interviews, and data analysis.

22 people attended this first two hour workshop and Chris Fields will be conducting both workshops with the final report planned for completion in the spring.

Chris has 30 years of award winning marketing and economic development experience and has been dedicated to reconnecting people to the power of community building.
