Spring is only just arriving, but if you have kids at home, it’s already time to start making plans for the summer break. Keep reading for a few ideas based on currently available summer activity information.

Arts Camps

Arts Council for the South Shuswap - Get ready for an exciting summer experience at the Performing Arts Camp, held in August at FACES Studio at Carlin Hall! A fun mix of dance and music designed for kids and teens ages 6 - 18. Registration opens in May, and full details will be available at shuswaparts.com in April.

Water Activities

NSSCR Swimming Lessons – This is a great opportunity for kids to learn about lake swimming in a safe environment. Shuswap Lake lessons will take place in July and August in Sunnybrae, Blind Bay and Scotch Creek. There may also be lessons available at White Lake in July (TBC). Swimmers participate in the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program. More information will be available later in March and registration opens in April at www.nsscr.ca.

Shuswap Water Sports

Wake Surf Academy – Shuswap Water Sports in Blind Bay will be offering a camp and clinics this summer with certified water sports coaches. Kids ages 9-16 can check out the Wake Surf & Sport Camp in July to learn to surf or improve their skills. There will also be two wake surf clinics in August. Bible Camps

Eagle Bay Camp – Registration is open for both summer camps (ages 8-15) and leadership programs (min. age 14). We are excited to share with you our renowned staff, stunning Shuswap location, and the love of God. Visit www.eaglebaycamp.com.

Sorrento Centre – The Sorrento Centre will be offering camps in July and August for ages 3-18 and adults on the theme of “enchantment.” The week-long programs include a welcome BBQ, daily activities, worship with music, beach access, yoga, and more. Registration is open now. Visit sorrentocentre.ca.

Sunnybrae Bible Camp – Registration is open for kids’ day camps and summer camps as well as teen and family camps. The organization also runs outbound camps for older kids with voyageur canoes, hiking and camping. Visit: sunnybrae.ca.

Camp Grafton – Magna Bay’s Camp Grafton offers a range of summer camps for children and youth ages 6 – 16, and day camps for ages 6-12. Visit campgrafton.ca for more details and to register.

Salmon Arm Camps

Camp OC - Okanagan College’s popular summer camps run in July and August for children entering grades 1 – 9 in the 2025-2026 school year. 2025 camp themes include Lego Robotics, Minecraft, Mad Scientist, Jewellery and Craft, Epic Energy, Creative Nails and more. Salmon Arm Recreation Centre - The Salmon Arm Recreation Centre will be hosting summer camps in July and August for kids ages 6-12. More details are available in the Spring Fun Guide. Registration opens April 1. Visit salmonarmrecreation.ca.

Shuswap Children’s Association FLY Youth Program – Summer day-programs are available for children ages 8-18 with support needs (ADHD, anxiety, autism, OCD and more). A formal diagnosis is not required. More information will be made available on the Shuswap Children’s Association Facebook and Instagram pages. Email: fly@shuswapchildrens.ca.

Momentum Gymnastics – the gymnastics club welcomes children ages 3 and up for week-long camps that run throughout the summer. Check the website later in the spring for more details and to register: www.momentumgymnastics.com.

Gym of Rock - Send your little climbers to the Gym of Rock this summer! Three-day camps will run during mornings in July and August for 6–12-year-olds. Participants will learn climbing techniques, play games and laser tag and enjoy other fun activities. Register online at gymofrock.com.
