Eagle Bay Development Open House
By Barbra Fairclough
A community open house will be hosted by FLR Developments on the proposed 120 acre Eagle Bay Development at 5193 Eagle Bay Road. The details of the development will be shared through visual information storyboard displays as well as printed information for visitors to take away. Staff will also be available at the open house to answer questions.
Vanessa Asmus of FLR Developments in a phone interview confirmed that this will allow for fact finding and information exchange for both residents and the developer. It is expected that this should answer quite a few questions for residents.
This project has a multi-phase approach. Vanessa confirms that timelines for the development are unknown and everything is in the information and fact finding stage. “We are at the mercy of many moving parts.”
As new information becomes available it will be posted on the website and residents are directed to visit from time to time for information over the course of development. There is a Frequently Asked Questions area. As questions come in, they will be answered and posted here.
The project website outlines some of the features as well as a project overview complete with maps.
A community engagement plan page has information on Open House Dates. The open house is at the Eagle Bay Community Hall located at 4326 Eagle Bay Road on May 11,12 from 1-5pm and Saturday May 13 from 9-3pm.
At the January CSRD board meeting Area C Director Marty Gibbons moved that the board utilize the complex consultation process be used to allow for in depth community consultation for this proposed development.
