Please join the North and South Shuswap Community Resources (NSSCR) for a party in the park. This celebration is for families with children ages 0-5 years old (older siblings welcome).

Friday, June 23 from 10am-12pm at Sorrento Blind Bay Community Park, 2670 Davidson Road, Sorrento.

The Shuswap Children’s Association, Child Care Resource and Referral will be on site with games and activities. Sorrento Preschool teachers will be providing face painting. The NSSCR will have snacks available to everyone. At 10:30 am our special guest Uncle Chris the Clown will be entertaining the crowd with his marvelous magic and side stitching silliness.

Expect to have a blast! Bring your bathing suit and towel for the splash park. Don’t forget water, a hat and sunscreen.

Wrap Up Springtime with the last NSSCR Parent and Tot Hike

To wrap up the spring programming for the NSSCR, we have one last parent and tot hike guided by Sarah (Shuswap Adventure Girl) on Thursday, June 15 at 10am to Margaret Falls and along Reinecker Creek (through the Herald campground), and time at the beach and playground. This hike is stroller friendly.

The parent and tot hikes are geared toward families with children 0-5 years old (older siblings welcome). Sarah has chosen relatively easy routes that can be managed by adults with toddlers in tow. She will also have a selection of baby carriers available to anyone wanting to try one. This event is approximately 1.5 hours, but families are welcome to come early or stay and play afterward. Meet at the day use area next to the playground and parking lot of Harald Park, 12kms down Sunnybrae-Canoe point Road. Follow the signs to Herald Provincial Park

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to get out on our beautiful trails in the North and South Shuswap area and increase hiking confidence. These drop-in hikes are free of charge and a light snack is provided. The Parent and Tot Hiking Series will start back up in September 2023.

The NSSCR Swim for Life Swim Program also begins July 3 at the local lakes this summer. Registration is now open.
